If it was not for the Quick response of Eastern Wake Station 1&2 a family would have lost more than a couple cars. If the merger was like Knightdale offered the second in truck would have come from 6 miles away and not 4. A fire truck carries 500 gallons of water and usually pulls a 1 3/4 hand line flowing water at roughly 150 gallons per minute. Do the math and you will see they only have a few moments of water. This fire happened in a area that has no hydrants so it is crucial you have a second engine right behind you. If you live in the Rural part of Knightdale this Merger offer is a bad idea!
