If you have been given sandbags by Maidstone Borough Council please keep them in case you need them again in future. Once they have dried out, they should be kept away from sunlight to extend their useable life. Maidstone Borough Council can collect unused Sandbags (but not gel-based flood bags) if requested. Please contact 01622 01622 602750 or email [email protected] to arrange this. But please be aware that if another flooding incident occurs, new sandbags will be delivered to the most vulnerable residents first. Gel-based flood bags which expand when in contact with water are not reusable and must be thrown away when they are no longer required in grey rubbish bins.
