If youre escaping Southern California via the lower part of 395 Id like to make a suggestion. Instead of exiting the 15 in Hesperia at 395 proceed to D Street in Victorville. Turn left. Youll be on part of the original Route 66. It beats the myriad of semis and traffic signals in Adalanto. Along the way you will come across Emma Jeans Holland Burger Café (one of Guy Fieris choices for top diners on Triple D), Roy Rogers Double R Bar Ranch, an ostrich farm and one of my favorites, Elmer Longs Bottle Tree Ranch. Continue north to Silver Lake and cut back to the 395.
