Im a member of a group of Catholic Homeschool Moms and one of the moms shared an experience that happened yesterday. Her name is Kelly McCoy Linn. Its a great story....I asked her permission to re-post.... Here is a story to warm your heart. This happened to me yesterday: My son is a Marine. He was able to be home on leave for 15 days before leaving for Japan. 2 of my girls and I drove him to the airport yesterday. We thought we left in plenty of time but we ended up hitting some heavy rush hr. traffic. There was also someone in the car that needed to use the little girls room really really bad. umm.. yes, that would have been me. lol. We were getting pretty anxious, and my son was getting nervous that we were not going to make his flight. Once I hit the airport road I stepped on it. I was going a bit fast as I came up to the terminal, well from behind me I could see some flashing lights. yikes! We had no time to waste. My son jumped out and yelled I am military and need to catch my flight I jumped out and said He is military and must catch his flight and I REALLY REALLY need to use the little girls room. lol... well the nice officer let my son go, my older daughter helped him. He politely asked me for my DL and let me run! to the restroom. I came back out, and the nice officer informed me I was going a bit fast and should really leave earlier to get to the airport on time. He gave me my DL back. Yes! no ticket!!! First blessing. Well, I then realized my son was gone. My daughter said since he was military they got him through first class. My heart sank.. I didnt know what to do so I started crying. I wasnt able to say goodbye to my son who is going to be gone for 2 years. Well the nice officer said Follow me I will get you through security. I was shaking! Was I going to make it to say goodbye? I got through security and RAN down the corridor to his gate. There were so many people! I finally spotted him and called out his name. I dropped my coat and boots.(yes, I didnt even get them put back on after going through security) rushed to him and gave him a HUGE HUG! and I was crying at this point. I could see everyone was looking at us, and I could see smiles and even tears in their eyes. The young man next to me said I understand, my sister is also in Japan. I know I would have never been able to say goodbye to my son if that kind police officer hadnt pulled me over. Was he my guardian angel? I dont know but God Bless him!
