Im feeling like a passeggiata - want to join me? Were going to Venice! * Well start off at the Rialto Bridge (venice-italy-veneto/rialto-bridge.html). * Next stop is the market - I simply adore the colors and sounds...even the smells:-) I could spend hours here but we need to get on - lots to see still. * Now were on the road to St. Marks, well pass the Sempione restaurant and enjoy the view from the bridge leading to the restaurant. I dont advise eating here as service is patchy and prices high. Well rather go to one of the restaurants I have on the blog (venice-italy-veneto/venice-restaurants.html) but thats much later:-) * Aaah - Saint Marks (Piazza San Marco) - the loveliest piazza in all Italy and the only one in Venice - the others are all called campi. Heres more on the piazza ==>venice-italy-veneto/st-marks-square.html * You need ages exploring the piazza and many of Venices top six sights are here (venice-italy-veneto/venice-italy.html). Once were done well wander across to the water and along the Riva degli Schiavoni to catch the water bus over to the island of San Giorgio Maggiore (venice-italy-veneto/venice-tourist-attractions.html). *After the island and a trip up the tower well catch the water bus back to Cannareggio and head to dinner at the Vedova restaurant (venice-italy-veneto/trattoria-alla-vedova.html) - I cant wait to try their wonderful meatballs again - they are the best ever!
