Im going to step up on the soapbox for a moment, and Im sure feelings will be hurt and Ill have a couple people delete me over it...so be it. I come from a large family....4 brothers and a sister and more cousins than I even know, and believe me there have been times we disagree and probably havent even liked each other. And I will admit some of that fault is mine...I can be stubborn and even mean at times. However, I know when all else fails and no one else is there, my family has never turned their backs to me or mine...even when they didnt necessarily have the means to. Maybe thats why this situation is weighing so heavily on my heart....I have a cousin who most likely is in the last phase of his life, has children and sisters and other family that lives close by, However, he gets very little help from anyone! He visits my parents most times daily to get meals and has occasionally, today included ask my mom to fix him something to eat because he has nothing and hasnt eaten since he visited my parents the day before. My mom does his laundry once a week because he ask her to...now dont get me wrong my mom doesnt complain and has never turned him away. Her reasoning...its the Christian thing to do! And even though she has more than enough on her taking care of my dad, she finds time to help my dads nephew . We have called his family members several times to plead with them to help him, and its always they dont have the time, means, or are just too far from him. The thing is daily I get on facebook and see his family posting scripture and praising the Lord.... Im just wondering when it is time and they are called home and ask, have you done all you can to help people, is this mans face going to appear before them??? I know their parents would not have handled the situation the way they have chosen to. This situation has led me to see exactly how important family is, and I do hope my brothers and sister know that if there ever is a time like he is having, in your lives I will be there for you and you will have a home to come to....enough said.
