Im not a pro-genital autonomy advocate to make you uncomfortable. As hard as it may be to believe, I dont find it easy to discuss penises with complete strangers. I dont like confrontation and holding a sign while some people jeer at you isnt my idea of a good time. I am a pro-genital autonomy advocate because one day I watched a video and then I read some information and then I read some more and my mind was blown. WHAT IF I HAD LET A DOCTOR DO THIS TO MY SON? How are parents not getting this information? How is this happening to boy children in a modern advanced society? How are doctors getting away with letting parents assume its being done for a medical reason? I see an injustice in the world and I speak out even when what I want to do is hide and nurse my wounds from the last time someone didnt like what I had to say. I speak out because the idea that there are boys right this second undergoing unnecessary life-threatening surgery because his parents have been led to believe he will benefit scares the shit out of me. I stand with other advocates who are doing the same thing. People I respect and love because they are awesome for doing what they do. Women and men who are victims, who are angry, who are scared, who are mad... Human beings fighting for the rights of the tiny humans. I love each and every one of them for what they do.
