Im turning 35 on Dec 28, which is, by some strange coincidence, the exact date that I turned 34 last year! I know 35 is not a big deal – its ten years away from the midlife crisis, and ten years past the point of quarter life crisis. But still, I wanted to do something meaningful with my birthday, and Ive decided to donate it to Students for a Free Tibet, an organization that has been at the forefront of the Tibetan freedom movement over the last two decades. SFT has recently launched a new campaign to fight the Confucius Institutes, Chinas tentacles of propaganda that are choking free expression across our campuses and trying to kill the Tibet issue in the global arena.
