In Goa premiure league, which I participated in as a geust player few days back, a younge local goa player who is yet to play for his state got the highest bid of 5.5 lacs. Imagine what confidence booster it must have been for him. And as 3 outside state guest players were allowed per team, the quality of crkt played im the league improved immensely besides allowing budding talent to rub shoulders with national and international stars (guest players). i strongly beleive ,Leagues in j&k must be actualy aimed at providing quality crkt to budding crktrs. While reducing number of retained players from 4 to 1 is a very good move as the number of quality players available is limited bt not allowing outside state players to participate and limiting d bid price to few bucks, may reduce the league to a local tournament, which takes place in every mohalla ground. I hope mature heads concerned sit together and sanity prevails.
