In Mark 10:46-52 Jesus heals a blind man, Bartimaeus. As Jesus was traveling on the road leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus cried out to Him. Many rebuked him, telling him to be silent but he cried out even more. “Son of David, have mercy on me.” What an awesome yet simple cry of the heart, “have mercy on me.” As Jesus was traveling, he heard the deep cry of the soul. Then Jesus requested, “What do you want me to do for you?” WOW! When there is a cry out of the brokenness of our being, Jesus hears and Jesus wants us to be very specific in what we ask of Him. “What do you want me to do for you?” Would you not love hearing that question in your hour of brokenness and need? To hear that from One who can cause the blind to see, the lame to walk, the dead to live. He is waiting for our broken cry. He is waiting for our specific need. He is waiting for our step of faith in Him. Notice, “Jesus said to him, ‘Go your way, your faith has made you well.’” Have you ever cried out to our Lord in brokenness with faith? If you have then you have heard that Jesus response “what do you want me to do for you?” Then you have experienced the healing touch of the Savior. Share that wonderful story with others. For the glory of the story is not about you but about Him. Share it!
