In case you didnt hear, Rooster Teeth has been acquired by Fullscreen. The response has been mostly negative. For instance, this video has nearly the same amount of dislikes as likes. And this isnt your typical internet hivemind, Oh this is dumb because it is *downvote*. No, this is genuine criticism. Most people have very well thought out arguments as to why they dont like whats going on. But, this isnt really something Rooster Teeth can just go back on, so I guess its all done already. As for my thoughts, I really am not a huge fan of the acquisition. I really looked up to Rooster Teeth because they were so successful yet they were independent, making all these great shows like RvB, RWBY, and Achievement Hunter without having an umbrella company. I really want to go into film making when Im older, so I really wanted to have a company like RT, independent. Now that this acquisition has taken place, I dont look up to RT in the same way I used to. Sure, I look up to them as great content producers, but I cant look up to the fact that theyre independent anymore, because they arent. Its kind of sad to me, actually. That being said, I wont stop watching their content because of this; unless, of course, their content begins to change drastically. I dont think that will happen, but it very well could, no matter how many times anybody involved says it wont. What are your thoughts?
