In the U.S., teachers teach 1051 instructional hours per year. England-695 hours, Korea-609 hours, Finland-533 hours and Japan-510 hours. Plus, teachers in these countries (except in the U.S.) get time to plan lessons, grade, plan with other teachers and prepare. Teachers in this country are overworked, under appreciated and underpaid. This is why the turnaround for teachers is short. Its time for some serious changes.
