In this clip from The David Letterman Show, Lawrenceburg native Michael Jeter jokes about what he might have done if he had never developed any interest in acting. Jeter, a graduate of Lawrence County High School, achieved a great deal of success as a star of stage and screen before his death in 2003. In 1990, he won a Tony award for his role in the musical Grand Hotel, and in 1992 he won an Emmy award for his role in the popular sitcom Evening Shade. In addition to these awards, Jeter also appeared in numerous blockbuster movies. You may remember him from such hits as The Green Mile, Patch Adams, Jurassic Park III, and Open Range.
