It is very humbling yet I am so very thankful for all the birthday greetings received through this Facebook experience. It is also very humbling and I am so thankful to have reached a milestone and blessing of sixty years. Some of you, no doubt, are wondering where that term milestone comes from. In thankfulness to everyone let me help you with that. It comes from the time of the Roman Soldiers. They wore boots that extended up over the knee for protection. But in their quick step marching along the Roman roads a stone would fly up into the boot every mile or so. It would become stuck in the bottom of the boot. When the soldiers stopped to rest they would take off their boots to try to dig the stone out. If one were fortunate one would be able to grab the stone and pull it out exclaiming, I have reached another milestone! Thats what it feels like to be sixty.
