Ive been in coal mining since I was out of high school, and I dont think theres anything wrong with the coal industry in general. Surprisingly, clean water has been a continual problem; but the people interviewed were not as concerned about Freedom Industries and the circumstances that caused the leaking of chemicals into the Elk River. They were more upset with the story going nationwide and blame environmentalists for much of the trouble. McKinney and other miners would like to see the expansion of the coal industry to bring employment to the area.
