Its a day early and I was trying to come up with a great April Fools Day prank? But I couldnt. So I will share my all time best prank ever!! It was junior year 1983, a week before April fools, I came home from school with this somber face, my mother and grandmother asked me whats wrong? I sat down, made myself cry and proceeded to inform them both that I had gotten not one but two( twin sisters at my school) pregnant. Now for anybody who really knew my mother, knows Julia Harris could cuss you out without even saying a cuss word? She was that good!! But on this day I heard her say words that werent even in Websters dictionary. And my granny was a loving but, crass woman( she didnt hold back for nothing) she looked at me and said? What, your fat ass slipped and tripped in the pussy, what were you thinking? Your life is over!! ( to this very day I often think about those words and laugh) Im telling you, I thought these two ladys were going to beat the black off of me. But I stayed the course, I wanted this to be one of my best ever. So days went by, they didnt really talk to me, I couldnt go anywhere but to school and work, there just was no Joy in Mudville. The one day my mom sat me down and said? You know, you have to drop out of York Catholic because you broke the rules and got a young lady pregnant!! Then she said but your dumb ass got two!! Believe me when I tell you, it took everything in my power not to laugh and cave in and tell them but, I stayed strong. The next day after that conversation, I asked my mother could I go to Andersen little( you guys remember that place?) to get some ties and she replied for what? Your not going to need them after this school term!! Boy the angst was really building up in our household, the silence, the stares. I knew my mother was serious as ish because, she reached out to her education connections and mail from Carson Long and Valley Forge Military Academy came in the mail addressed to me, Now we are two days away from the Reveal, I took it to the grandest next step anybody could ever take it to(I was a evil genius at stuff like this) I did work with twins and my one manager was older so I knew it would work. My mother knew most of the people I went to school with but not all, so my manager and the twins helped me out in this grand charade. I had my manager call my mom to say she was the mother of two young ladies and she would like to get together and discuss the situation, they came over my house that Sunday after church( so they were safe because mom had God in her, loL) now if you wanna know where I first heard the phrase Boo-Bop from? My mom use to say it, way back then!! Cause she said that day to me if this woman doesnt come correct, she is going to get the Boo-Bop from me, thats for damn sure!! So it was me, mom, granny and the other three females( fake mom and the twins) for an hour and a half, discussing what was going to be done? Now you know me, I put some whip cream on top of this sundae? My mother said to the twins why waist three years and not be able to graduate with your class, your friends all for one stupid moment. They said Dr. Harris, we are only freshmen!! Well all hell broke out on me that night!! After mom drank several Vodka tonics and my granny drank some of her homemade tiger Lilly wine, they read me all kind of ways. But again I stayed the course, here is great end to this great prank. I went to school that day, then to work right after, my mother and grandmother came into work to get something to eat, I took their order then my manager and the twins came out of the back, my mom looked , then she looked at me with that signature Julius smile and I uttered April Fools Gotcha!! The looks on their faces will stay with me until I see them again. Lets just say Mothers Day 1983 was a prosperous one for those two great woman on behalf of me!! ( oh the tomfoolery I pulled)!! Happy early April Fools everybody!!
