Its been an incredibly long and sad day. I am about to go to bed but before i do i had a thoughT to share. Today my aunt was hot from fever. I went to the bathroom and grabbed a cool tub of water and a wash cloth and patted her forehead for a long time. We had gotten the news we had somewhat been expecting, albeit not this soon. Anyway..my thoughts went to being a kid. My aunt loved all of us equally, but would alwaystell each of us we were her favorite, and not to tell the other kids. We were each her favorite and she would and did do anything she could for us. I was a serious brat though. If i didnt get my way i would cry and hold my breath until i would pass out. Her reaction was always the same. She grabbed a cool cloth and swabbed my head and cuddled me until i calmed down. Crazy how things come full circle. We all have kids of our own now. Even rachel and i, and clear up until yesterday she swore she never thought she would see the day! We have been lucky to have incredibly strong women in this family. We will be passing down the stories and traditions and lessons learned to all of them. Everytime Harlow or one of the other kids get sick, i will grab that cool cloth and think of you. Ill smile, and ill tell that story with all of the fondness and love in the world. She was also the best gift wrapper ive ever known, she showed me her ways and now i am pretty darn good too! Thank you Aunt Lisa for all of these memories and all of this love. (She is still holding on, i appreciate the thoughts and prayers)
