Its been quite the decision process to get here but Im pretty excited to share with everyone that this fall semester I will be spending my time working as a program educator for Storer Camps Outdoor Education program. Its an awesome opportunity that Im planning on using as a huge growing experience. This fall I want to decide if adding Outdoor Ed to my studies at CMU is something I truly want to do, as it would add quite a bit of time and money to my college experience. I will get the chance to teach students from all around, at one of my favorite places in the world, in subjects from natural science and environmental awareness to cultural history and adventure education. All in all, I see this almost as internship opportunity in education, and a sneak peek into the world of Outdoor Ed, before I commit to studying it alongside my Secondary Spanish/ESL Education program. Im so excited to be working at Storer Camps this fall until I return to classes in the spring semester, and I know this experience will help me learn and grow in ways I havent had a chance to before. 🍁
