Its often been said that a down economy favors the growth of Network Marketing. Many futurists have pandered to the Network Marketing / Direct Sales community with this message with hopes of selling more of their books, getting more speaking engagements, etc. Ive never been convinced. While its true that during a down economy more people look for options, it doesnt mean they have the means to give their business a few years, especially if they are in survival mode financially. And, in a severely depressed economy far fewer customers have the extra spendable discretionary income for the products.
