Its time to get the bicycles tuned up for Spring, and I request your advice for my 72 Twenty: I have the option of (1) getting an alloy rim for the front wheel and installing new brake pads with the existing sidepull brakes; or (2) getting an alloy rim for the front wheel and replacing the front brakes with a new set of sidepull brakes. They tell me it is not possible to put a V brake on the thing. Im leaving the rear wheel alone since the gears work perfectly. Are the old brakes sufficient or are new sidepulls more efficient?
