Ive been thinking bout hip-hop recently, and Ive been wondering about where its future lies. Whether u r a fan or not u cannot deny its success. For a genre to last for 30+ years is an incredible achievement, but Im wondering if it is finally losing steam. It was such a powerful platform for a generation of disaffected young men and women to voice their frustrations, but in recent years it seems to have lost its message, and with it both direction and integrity. Are there too many Johnny come latelys and me toos who are just simply jumping on the bandwagon? Is it no longer relevant? Have we outgrown it? Or have I just simply got this wrong?
