Ive tried not to scroll too much on Facebook lately because it always makes me angry, but Ive been reading about the Robin Williams thing, and Im occasionally coming across statuses like, there are more important things going on in the world to be talked about than this rich man killing himself or, why do you care, you didnt know him? Excuse you, but a life, whether it be one of a rich man or poor, was ended. All tragedies are, well, tragic. There are horrid things going on everywhere in the world all the time; everyone is aware of that. Its a terrible thing and Im sure everyone wishes things didnt have to be the way they are sometimes. That doesnt make the death of a widely known and loved man any less real, and acknowledging his death is in no way saying anything else in the world is any lesser of an issue. Recent news is going to be talked about. How disrespectful and sick it is for some of you to lash out at people who are publicly offering their condolences to someones death because other things are more important. A life is a life, celebrity or not. If someone loses their mother or father and posts about it in Facebook, Id assume you wouldnt comment and tell them about the more important things going on in the world. Someone out there lost their father, a family member. Have some respect.
