JULIE VERNON is our FEATURED ARTIST and we are showing three of her oil on canvas pieces. One from NEWA 2014 and the other two are her recent work. She wrote this article about her work. I am fortunate to live in a rural location and so find constant inspiration in the fauna, derelict farms and even rusting tin cans which surround me, beauty is to be found in the shapes, textures and colours which are all around. My paintings are oil on canvas and include stencilling and glazing in an effort to capture the beauty of wildlife within modern, man made environments. Issues relating to wildlife under pressure to survive is a recurring theme in my work therefore NEWA is important to me as a dedicated wildlife exhibition which is concerned with, and supports, wildlife conservation.
