Sitting close off a pace set by Can the Man, Shared Belief took over on the far turn and shook clear of Candy Boy, who had emerged from midpack to challenge. Under a hand ride by Mike Smith, Shared Belief effortlessly opened the distance between himself and the field, holding off all challengers Heavily favored Shared Belief paid $3.40, $2.60, and $2.10. Candy Boy ($3.60 and $2.60) finished second at 3-1; Tonito M. ($5.00) was a distant third. The final time for the nine furlongs was 1:47.01.
