Job posting: WaterWorks Supervisor/City Maintenance Job description: Public Works Operator/City Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Public Works in a city with a population of 436. Some areas of responsibility are: maintenance of water and wastewater systems, repair and/or replace water or sewer service lines and mains, make water & sewer taps, road repair, installs street signs, install and/or repair fire hydrants, meter reading, mowing and grounds maintenance, vehicle and equipment inventory and maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Responsible for TCEQ compliance. Manage department employees in compliance with City policy and applicable laws. Operates light and/or heavy equipment. Job Requirements Education, training, experience: Must have a H.S. diploma or equivalent and a valid Texas drivers license and acceptable driving record. Prefer have or obtain within 6 months of date of hire TCEQ Class D Water license and Waste Water license. Must be self-motivated w/ excellent organizational skills. Pre-employment drug test. The ability to read & understand written job instructions and write reports by hand. The ability to respond to after hour & weekend emergency calls. The ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods of time in inclement weather conditions. The ability to lift and/or pull heavy objects weighing approximately 80 pounds.
