Jordy update! The hospital says he ate a little bit overnight, - TopicsExpress

Jordy update! The hospital says he ate a little bit overnight, whoo hoo! The preliminary results from the CT that was done last night is that there are no sub-luxation and no fractures, this is considered good news. He does have an abnormality between two of his cervical vertabrae and that could be something such as soft tissue damage or inflammation. An MRI could confirm this however the expense of an MRI would only be helpful at this point in terms of getting more information (and we can save more shelter dogs with what an MRI might cost). It would not change the treatment, because a fracture and sub-luxation has been ruled out by the CT. So here is the plan for today . . . weve actually got a real Jordy plan in place, finally! He is being discharged from the hospital at noon and our volunteer Jill is picking him up and taking him over to see Two Hands Four Paws, the amazing physical therapy place where our past dogs (like Brando) have had some great results. There is also a vet on staff there that if it is right for Jordy, does heated acupuncture treatments. Depending on what Jordy needs in the immediate next few days, or few weeks, we are prepared to continue to fundraise for whatever he needs. If the neck pain is from swelling, we hope with continued pain meds (he is on two right now) and therapy, that he can get relief with time and healing. We have been so touched and overwhelmed by the support of all of you . . . all of you in the Jordy village who have been sending in donations for him. We are about to get his final hospital bill today and we are crossing our paws that between your donations and our nice rescue discount, that we can be caught up. Then moving forward, we will just need to fundraise for Jordys physical therapy. Thank you to everyone that supports Camp Cocker Rescue and has been pulling for Jordy. We are so grateful for you all!
