Jun. 28, 2013 “And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships…” (Luke 5 vs 7). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. When Jesus came to the Lake of Gennesaret, there were two ships; one ship belonged to Peter. Jesus stepped into Peter’s ship and used it as a platform to preach to the crowd. So, Peter’s ship was chosen first; Peter was preferred; Peter seemed to have gone back to work while his colleagues were doing nothing. The owners of the other ship seemed bypassed and forgotten; they seemed like mere spectators while Peter stole the show. Notice that when Jesus empowered Peter to catch a huge multitude of fishes, Peter needed help from the people in the other ship. The fish that Peter caught filled both ships. So, the people who seemed forgotten suddenly became relevant. The people who seemed like spectators eventually became principal actors. Peter’s partners (the sons of Zebedee) eventually became Jesus’ disciples. So,what happened to Peter also happened to them. They got the same results that Peter got. Friend, hear God’s Word to you: People may begin a process before you or even move ahead of you, but you shall not be a spectator in destiny. People may get opportunities before you, but you won’t be left behind. You may seem bypassed at the moment, but God says your turn is coming. Even if it seems that you are at a spot right now, God says, you shall not remain there forever. Don’t feel abandoned when others get new jobs, build new homes, drive new cars, get married, become wealthy etc. The same God who made them relevant will show up for you! Pray with me, “Lord, I shall not be a spectator in destiny; my turn shall come in Jesus name”. Follow on Twitter @jerrystreams Have a Fabulous Friday!
