Just need to vent, so I went to take a bunch of things to the Salvation Army and donate my items, Although the things I donated i could have sold for $200+ (tv, brand new clothes, microwave, wok, etc all brand new stuff) I didnt want to sell them, I wanted to do my bit and donate to help those in need And a good cause..I decided not to leave it by those charity bins incase it gets ruined or stolen so drove all the way to the Salvation Army charity shop, Anyway, I go into the shop with a huge heavy box full of brand new little girls clothes, etc, the lady who didnt want to assist me then proceeded to ignore me when I asked her were I should put the items for donation, she wouldnt even look at me. so I put the box by the counter and start bringing in the other 3 huge boxes of items in (with no help) and the lady then goes onto say (in a sarcastic belittling tone), thanks for putting it by the counter now I have to carry this junk to the back by myself . Now I have proudly donated hundreds to the salvos on a regular basis not to mention the items Ive donated have been sellable items I could have sold but out of good faith wanted to help out. As I walk out the door in disbelief I was approached by another woman claiming that the lady was laughing at me and called me a silly brat as I walked out and was rude to her also. Anyone who knows me knows Im far from a brat. Everything I own I worked my ass off for with NO HELP! and have done so since 14 years old and being homeless relying on the Salvation Army for acclimation and food as a kid. Im so mad right now!!! Unfortunetly this has now tarnished my love for charity shops and I will now think twice about donating my things. We live in such a sarcastic, fast paced hussle and bussle and arrogant city. Take me to the country anytime✌️
