KENYATTA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ASSOCIATION OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT INTERNAL MEMO TO: ALL STUDENTS DATED: 31/10/ 2014 RE: MAY INTAKE 2011. I wish to inform you that we have engaged and we are engaging the University Management on the issue of May intake 2011. The May Intake 2011 has about 7,000 students. The key issues being raised by the affected group are; 1. Graduation Date. 2. January long Holiday. 3. Missing marks and retakes. We secured graduation for May Intake 2011 and Sept Intake 2011 to be in December 2015. In essence we shall have about 14,000 students(May + Sept, 2011). The results for the semester May – Aug 2015 will be out by Oct for classification. For those who will have no missing marks or retakes, have a guarantee of graduating in December. There has been a major mopping up of missing marks esp in the bigger schools like; Education, Business, Economics and Humanities & Social Sciences. So far, genuine cases of missing marks have been handled and more work is to be done. On Monday 3rd Nov, 2014, we shall be meeting the Management to discuss further and see what other possibilities we have, as far as May & Sept 2011 Intake is concerned. Consequently, we shall be deliberating on reducing the time lag for graduation from 6 months to 3 months. We are much grateful for your continual engagement. Kindly send your views on the same on my emails or comment right below this post. Best Regards; George Thuku. PRESIDENT – KUSA. [email protected] 0728527152
