Karen and I are back in Jefferson County, Illinois and Perry County to attend the Rend Lake Scholarship Banquet. Our families have a couple of scholarships that go to hard working but struggling young people. We get to meet the recipients tonight. I appreciate RLC for allowing me an opportunity to get a great start on college when it was Mt. Vernon Community College. I had been out of high school for two years but went back to school after the good people here passed the bond issues. It was a great investment in me and my future so I want to give a small amount back to the region. If you have benefited from the education you received why not support a young person to give them the same opportunity?
