Kufc u17s 0 - 3 knocklyon. The lads came down to earth with a bump today this is the first points we have dropped all season and we done it in style . Knocklyons game plan was simple pressurise the ball at all times and kick the ball over the top for the centre forward to run onto ( a bit like the crazy gang at millwall when Vinny Jones was playing ) this should be quite simple to deal with one centre half staying one laying off and keeper on the 18 yard line. DIDNT HAPPEN. When the opponents are pressing the ball , at times 3 off them onto 1 a little bit of ingenuity and suddenly we have superior numbers AGAIN DIDNT HAPPEN. we were second to every ball we were listless no energy in our play, we didnt know how to react when we went behind, nobody stood up rolled up their sleeves and said COME ON. We were poor from the keeper to the centre forwards non existent midfield no wing play and poor decisions in defense, I have never seen us going into tackles and hitting the ball off our own players as much, this happened 7 times. Players getting too close to each other, effectively giving no options for the man with the ball. I dont think any of our players can stand up and say I had a good game. Some can say I had a decent second half or a decent 1st half but thats it. RANT OVER. We have to learn by this going forward and get back to the way we play football , every team has an off day but its how you react to it that determines the character of the team, so lets get rid of the complacency and get back to our winning ways. By the way all this also applies to the manager, I have to look at the team I put out, the way I reacted by replacing players was I right or was I wrong, all this will be taken into account before our next match.
