Last night I dropped Caitlyn off with her grandparents at The Dollar General store about 2 miles from my house . I had spent a large part of the day with her! Painting, playing games, eating our regular lunch at Texas Roadhouse! For some reason yesterday was different when I dropped her off. Most parents would not think one thing about it. But for some reason yesterday hurt.. Maybe it was from all of those years of having to drop her off with her mom in a parking lot somewhere! Having spent a week with her and the watching her drive off. Seeing those Hands and little nose pressed against the back window. The tears, the frown and the goodbye was torture! It will forever haunt me! I guess for a brief moment yesterday it seemed surreal!! For a minute I saw myself driving back to Tampa. I saw myself a few exits from her pulling over in the median of the road and screaming to the top of my lungs!!! I hated myself for it! For a minute I felt that feeling again! For a minute I was lost!!!! Then a peace come over me, like a whisper from God. A tap on the shoulder from one of his Angels that said politely, never again my friend! Those days are gone. Never again do you need to feel that hurt. Never again, until I call you home will you have to leave her. There were not near as many tears shed this time as those days before, but I also learned that when you are a parent 1 minute away is one 2 many. 1 hour apart is one you can never get back. And 1 day away from youre child is a day of complete emptiness that you can never replace with....THINGS.. Tomorrow is her first day back to school! She will be in the 5th grade! We have spent so much time together this summer, I am happy for her, but sad for me! I will miss her.. I read on here a lot of parents saying, thank God schools starts tomorrow!!! That they are ready for a break! Im not quite ready to make that statement yet...JUDD
