Last night my son-in-law was the victim of a hit and run while on - TopicsExpress

Last night my son-in-law was the victim of a hit and run while on his motorcycle. He is fine. Im sure a little sore from being thrown off the bike and onto the oncoming lane. He was going on his way and doing life when he got hit and the driver never stopped to say he was sorry or see if he could help. We all get hit and run in life. Think about how you are going along and then something totally unexpected hits you. It can be the loss of a job, illness, the death of someone close, an accident, or just words that cut you open. The greatest hurts are the most unexpected ones. You lose that person you love. There are never any answers that are good enough at that time. You get hit. You want the world to stop. But it just runs on. Your greatest pain is still there and everybody around you is moving on. Living their lives and expecting you to move on, also. How? Or sometimes our hit and run is words that are spoken or written about us that just cut us to our very soul. They may be intentional or on purpose, but either way they hurt. I have been the victim of those words. And unfortunately I have been the perpetrator of those same words. We fail to take in to account how those words will hurt someone. And then we run like nothing happened. We need to examine our words and the damage that they do and we need to go back and ask forgiveness. We then need to offer forgiveness to others when they hurt us. Sometimes they will know or we should tell them. And others we should just be graceful and forgive without mentioning it. I know my son in law. He will forgive this person. We all will. Thats what God commands us to do. Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19, 20 ESV) God, I pray for all of those who woke up feeling as if life as run them over today. I pray for your peace on the souls of those so troubled. I thank for the gift of friends even when it can hurt at times. I thank you for the gift of Jesus. I pray that today someone will receive that gift who is lost. In Jesus Name.
