Last summer I went trail building on Meares Island in Clayoquot sound with the Wilderness Committee. The feeling that comes from being in a place so wildly beautiful is impossible to describe in words. Yet without the protests of 1993, those forests that literally made my jaw drop in awe would no longer be standing. It left me incredibly thankful for those people who took action and inspired me to want to do the same. 20 years later and Clayoquot sound is still not safe. The area faces short-sited development plans that value a quick buck over the environment that has nurtured the local people for thousands of years. Tomorrow the Wilderness Committee will be hosting the event posted below, Id be stoked beyond words to see a ton of people show up! Its going to be a super interesting and informative evening! Doooooo it!
