Lead of Software Development Charlotte, North Carolina Area Job Description Work with the architecture team and engineering team to oversee the design of critical areas of the application data model throughout the entire SDLC lifecycle Provide support and mentorship to engineers in all aspects of logical database design, creating and tuning queries, etc. Work with Network Operations, the architecture team, the application performance team, and the engineering team to identify and correct performance and scalability problems in development, staging, and production databases. Perform database infrastructure design, refactoring, data validation, application updates, and troubleshooting as required Review and recommend and enforce database best practices and standards for engineering team Lead and participate in database design reviews Review and recommend emerging database and web technologies Actively gather statistics from production databases to increase efficiency, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses Experience Minimum 5 years of web-developed, web-applications Minimum 4 years of experience in PHP,XML, PHP and Mysql functions Minimum 4 years of experience in Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET Minimum 5 years of experience in database design/architecture, data modeling, security, performance, scalability, and tuning Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, engineering, or related fields Programming experience with Java/J2EE and web technologies required but can be substituted by equivalent experience DBA experience in an Oracle environment highly desirable.
