Lesson: Its your miracle keep on knocking Acts 12:5-17 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon [him], and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from [his] hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said; now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and [from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews. And when he had considered [the thing], he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda. And when she knew Peters voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel. But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened [the door], and saw him, they were astonished. But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place I want you to notice that when Peter was cast into prison that prayer was made for him without ceasing of the church. It is so important that we make intercession for each other when we are in trouble or going through a trial. They just didnt make a simple one minute prayer, but the continued to pray for him. I have often wonder when asking for prayer do we pray with intensity for the person as if it was our own family members? They were concerned for Peter and they were going to pray until something happen. Peter was sleeping when God send an angel to help him. He actually doesnt know for sure what is happening. Peter thought he was seeing a vision and didnt understand until the angel departed from him, than the Bible said Peter comes to his self or realizes that God has delivered him. Peter goes to Mary house where they are gathered praying. Now remember prayer is being made without ceasing for God to do something to help Peter. He knocks at the door and Rhoda recognizes Peter’s voice. She is excited and runs and tells the others; however they said Rhoda is mad. She tries harder to convince them, but now they think it is an angel. And I like this part of the lesson that Peter continues to knock. Praise the Lord this is why I titled the lesson, it’s your miracle keep on knocking. I believe many times we have prayed for something and God has answered our prayer, but like these praying for Peter they didnt believe. Peter has just been delivered from prison, prayer is being made without ceasing, and now Peter finds himself knocking at the door to get in. So I want to encourage those praying to keep on knocking. Don’t stop praying for your lost love ones, for others to get healed, or for whatever else you are praying for, keep on praying (knocking) don’t give up the answer is on its way amen. If you are praying for children that arent saved keep knocking it’s your miracle and promise that they will be filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:39 for the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. If you are in need of healing keep on knocking on the door of promise you will be healed. Isaiah 53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospered. If you need a mountain of trials and heartaches removed from you, keep on knocking on the promise God will remove this mountain from you. Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. If you are feeling lonely and feel no one cares for you, don’t give up hope, God cares for you. Keep on knocking on the promise he cares. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Peter received his miracle but needed to keep on knocking to enter into the house where they were praying. God has many times blessed us with the answer and we need to keep on knocking by faith we will see the results. The doctors may give up hope, but God has the final say. Your children may be not in the church, but God can change their hearts. Whatever situation you are in keep on knocking because after all it’s your miracle, so knock, knock, and if needed knock harder.
