“Let’s Paint the Town” is a revitalization project of Dresden’s Downtown core. Dresden’s BIA and local Merchants invite you to participate in “Let’s Paint the Town” September 14, 2013. DRESDEN, ONTARIO – The Dresden’s BIA and local Merchants are working towards a common goal to paint their downtown storefronts in one day! This is a Community effort with the help of sponsors, volunteers, trades people, business owners and local media. Like the old “barn raising” days….the concept is simple ….neighbour helping neighbour. The local Businesses and residents of Dresden are demonstrating that Community Spirit is alive and well. They are embracing “Let’s Paint the Town” with a passion that can only come from a long history of hard working people who care about each other and their Community. As more Baby Boomers retire they are travelling throughout Southwestern Ontario to discover all that this beautiful Province has to offer. Dresden is fast becoming a key tourist destination with its amazing historical background. The town of Dresden played a key role in the Civil Rights Movement in Canada, and is home to “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” an International Heritage landmark. Revitalizing the Downtown will enhance not only the buying experience for the local residents but will also encourage more tourism within the core. Dresden also boasts the “Trillium Trail Historical Walk” which showcases many of the outstanding historical buildings in and around Dresden. Harness Racing and the Casino also bring many tourists to the region. Dresden’s Downtown Merchants and the BIA would like to invite you to come join them for food, live music and fun on September 14th 2013 from 9am until 5pm.
