Lions roar to down Riders: All-round Manzoor, Imran star in lopsided victory SRINAGAR: Baba Reshi Lions had a perfect game with both bat and ball to crush timid Pride Riders by 55 runs in the league match of Khyber Downtown Champions League played at University Ground. It was a one-sided show from the moment Pride Riders’ skipper decided to insert Lions in. The Lions openers were in belligerent mood powering their team to 90 for the no loss in the first half their innings. Imran was the star act slamming a brisk 72 laced with four humungous sixes as he set the tone for Lions’ domination. There were string of solid contributions from Obaid and Manzoor who made 26 and 25 runs respectively. Chasing a mammoth target of 186, Riders were never in the hunt pegged back by Lions’ bowling unit with a string of wickets. Most of their batters failed to put up a show bundled out for 131/5 inside 17 overs. Manzoor claimed three wickets for the winning side. He was declared man of the match for his all-round show and also walked away with best bowler award in the match. Imran was awarded the best batsman award and also pocketed the award for highest number of sixes hit by a batsman.
