Local skaters will soon have a legal spot to work on their tricks - TopicsExpress

Local skaters will soon have a legal spot to work on their tricks in South St. Louis. The Peter Matthews Memorial Skate Park is almost complete. It is against the law to skate on city sidewalks and streets. Most local businesses chase skaters off their private property. Skaters can get hit by cars, and business owners do not want to get hit with lawsuits. So the Kingshighway Vigilante Transitions group built their own skate park under the Kingshighway Bridge. Crews will start demolishing that bridge soon. So, Bryan Bedwell gathered others with KHVT and looked for funding and donated labor to build the new skate park. He even says city officials are impressed with the effort and are on-board with the project.
