Loving and merciful Christ, on this Third Sunday of Advent, we REJOICE that you came to us, our Emmanuel. Whatever our situation, whatever our woe, whatever our illness, whatever our struggle, whatever our trouble, whatever our doubt, whatever our fear, whatever our weakness, whatever our failure, whatever our heartbreak, whatever our disappointment, whatever our pain, whatever our anxiety, whatever our frustration, whatever our shame, whatever our sin, YOU UNDERSTAND, for you are one of us. Jesus, Son of God, Savior of the World, give us the grace to hold firmly to what we believe, for you know our weaknesses, for you faced all of the same testings we do, yet without sin. We come boldly to the throne of our gracious God today as we gather for worship with your people wherever we may be, for there we will receive mercy and find grace to help us for whatever we need. Come, Lord Jesus, come! Amen.
