•✿•.¸.♥¯`•.¸. MACY (A0978336) Manhattan Center 2 year old Macy hasn’t been sitting in a cage at Manhattan ACC for very long. Within 3 days she was brought in, went through 2 medical exams, and was led into a strange room for a behavioral evaluation. That alone could make a girl’s head spin! Macy was fine for her medical exam and actually was in decent health when she got there. Of course, she’s already caught the shelter “cold”! When it came time for her Safer, the assessor used phrases like “friendly and sociable toward the handler during the assessment” “calm and relaxed during handling”. In fact, Marcy got all 1’s and 2’s except for the food, toy, and rawhide. There she showed she wasn’t happy with that big plastic hand trying to take her stuff. ACC doesn’t want to waste any more time on Marcy so they’ve put her on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. And on top of that, they’ve decided she can only leave alive if a rescue pulls her. So tonight, Marcy needs that special person who understands that resource guarding in a shelter environment from a dog who had been there only 3 days is not an insurmountable issue. She needs that someone who can see Macy strutting down the street alongside of them, making heads turn to take a second look at this beautiful dog. If you’re that someone, start applying to New Hope rescues to foster or adopt Macy. But do it now—tomorrow, Macy will be gone forever and what a loss that would be.
