MEDICO PIETOSO FA PIAGA VERMINOSA This is an Italian medical piece of advice that was passed on to me by one of our leading surgeons of international renown, may his soul now rest in peace. When I remarked that he was very firm in his surgical decisions, casting aside all emotions and bordering on the heartless, or ruthless, at least to my impression, he laughed and quoted the above saying. It translates: MERCIFUL MEDIC CAUSES SEPTIC SORE !! and he said that in his early years of practice, when his heart still ruled his head, a NUN at the hospital where he practiced, offered him that piece of advice which he adopted and which served him well throughout his life. This came to mind recently when I read and heard all the crap about being cautious when dealing with terrorists lest you should harm the civilians, who are sheltering them anyway, or lest you should breach some fine point of human rights or international convention in the process. I am very sorry. Anyone callous enough to perpetrate the heinous crimes which are costing us the lives of our young lions, must be considered a septic focus and removed AT ANY COST, and collateral damage be damned !!! I also recall my parents mentioning that during World War II, all recorded criminals were rounded up and isolated in camps or jails for the duration of the war. The logic behind that procedure being, that no threat to the HOME FRONT will be tolerated during wartime. We ARE at war and any opposition in the home front must be considered an act of sabotage. Keep your political opposition, your whining, your hunger strikes, your media protests and your human rights claims to yourselves, until this is over, or bear the consequences. The time for compassion is over !!! My humble opinion.
