Mahindra Scorpio Facelift Interiors Reveal XUV Inspiration As the launch date of the Mahindra Scorpio facelift comes nearer, more details of the updated model keep surfacing. We all have seen the exteriors of the car and most of us did not like it as the design is tacky and a step backward (similar to how the Hero Karizmas went from classy to unnecessary flashy). All of us are also aware about the 5 trims that will be on offer with Mahindra debuting a new variant naming system for the Scorpio. There are 5 trims on offer, 3 seating configurations and 2 engines. The chassis is a new hydroformed type while the 2.2-litre powerplant gets a new 5-speed gearbox. Now MotorBeam reader Nitesh Mhatre has shared some interior pictures of the Mahindra Scorpio facelift with us which reveals the new dashboard of the car. The new model takes heavy inspiration from the XUV500 and quite a few elements seem a direct lift from the flagship Mahindra. The steering wheel and the controls on it are a direct lift from the XUV500 while the utility vehicle maker has also shared AC control buttons from the Cheetah to the Scorpio. The cabin does look much better than before and the beige treatment has been carried out nicely. The new generation Scorpio (as Mahindra likes to call it that) gets a new instrument cluster with a chrome surround and even the AC vents on the car are new. Power window switches have gone from the centre console to the doors to liberate space for storing knick knacks while also improving the ergonomics of the vehicle. Set to launch on 25th September, the facelifted Scorpio is a stop-gap measure till the next generation model arrives late next year. The popularity of this Mahindra SUV has ensured the company stretches its lifecycle for a really long time.
