Manhattan Center PATIENCE - A0971422 *** SERVICE DOG (PER OWNER) *** MALE, BROWN / WHITE, BOXER / ST BERNARD SMTH, 5 yrs OWNER SUR - EVALUATE, NO HOLD Reason NO TIME Intake condition NONE Intake Date 07/10/2013, From OUT OF NYC, DueOut Date 07/10/2013, Medical Behavior Evaluation No Initial Behavior Medical Summary No Initial Exam A volunteer writes: Patience is quite an unusual mix, a cross between an Boxer and a St Bernard...He has the most beautiful face, almost puppy like although he is six years of age. Patience used to be a service dog to his disabled master who relinquished him to us as he could not care for a pet anymore. His former owner was singing his praises in our lobby while crying.... Indeed, he owned Patience since age 3 months and named him after an Appalachian Trail where both master and dog used to hike.Patience would be fine with dogs, play with cats and love children. He would be housetrained and walk beautifully, both important features we could verify. Patience is a very endearing dog, very placid, ...very patient. Yesterday, I cleaned and hosed the whole backyard with him on the leash.. He followed me without a whisper. Such a good dog...Patience is a little overweight and might have lived lately a very sedentary life . He loves to eat but does take food and treats very politely from my hands. In the street, Patience attracts lots of admiring comments. He has the most endearing face , is very gentle and welcoming of people. he loves to be caressed and hugged tightly. He misses a home and a family. Patience is at the Manhattan Care Center waiting to ...rescue you from any ill of life....He has so much love to give.
