Mat laid a trail for Kronos on Tuesday and we ran it in Wednesday. It was a trail along a busy country lane into a not very obvious field track and then the field. The road and the turning into the track were 24hours old then the trail in field was fresh. Kronos took the trail perfectly and then took the turn into the track so confidently. He then seemed to change as he went into fresh scent but still trailed instead of tracking, he asked to go through the gate nicely and luckily ignored Matts wee stop! Once in the field Kronos really worked the scent well and worked out the direction. He got distracted by a dead rotten sheep and even tried to take the skeleton with him by quietly taking hold of it. After being told how disgusting that was he got back on track and suddenly came into fresh scent and zoned in on Matt who was hidden on the floor in a bivvy. Kronos had no fear at finding Matt in a strange position and got over excited. His tail was wagging so much his whole body was wagging. At one point he tried to get in the bivvy bag with Matt! After not being able to do that he decided the next best thing was to jump on top of him which he lay down pinned to the ground. I found it very funny, Kronos loved it and Matt was still smiling so it think he enjoyed it too!!
