Meathead Monday Tip: Set goals for yourself. Training without goals is like driving without having a destination. You would never get in a car without knowing where you are going first. Goals should be SMART. Specific Measurable Attainable, with a Reason with a Time frame. Some people are afraid of failure or just get caught up chasing numbers. It okay to have a little fear. In fact a little pressure can be a good thing. Having a deadline is a good thing too. When you send in a check to enter a competition you training becomes very important very fast! The goal should have meaning and be important to you. To me being strong is everything. It is not just about the physical strength you gain from training, but the fact that training teaches you how to work hard, deal with adversity and then overcome it. Training is a metaphor for life. So my takeaway message? If your training is stagnant enter a competition and set a concrete goal. Invest in a coach to help you out. The coach is like a GPS when you are going on a trip. The GPS will create driving directions (a program) based on the destination you give it. As we all know sometimes there are road blocks along the way. Your coach and training partners will be able to recalculate your route and change up your program based on how it is going. My goal is to total 2000 pounds this upcoming weekend, this Saturday November 16th 2013 I have had many people help me along the way, but most importantly I cant thank my training partners enough for being there through the whole process. That support has been huge! So if you do ONE thing today. Sit down and write down ONE goal you want to achieve over the next 3 months. Dont wait until January 1st. The revolution starts TODAY. Once you have you goal go out and find someone who can help you reach it! You dont have to do it alone! If you are on Long Island the G-team has you back! I know they have mine! FIRED UP! Lets do this! youtu.be/fjx0PNeaU8Q
