Memorial services, funerals, wakes . . . those closing moments of life. People gathering around. A sense of bubbling grief and uncertain wonderment. A weekend in review. A moments hesitation, the church doors looming over head, a deep breath, a look of well placed confidence, determined not to cry, wondering who might be there, I entered the large table lined room. The smell of coffee, tea and skillfully baked cookies fill the air. Friends, acquaintances, business contacts . . . oh no, I hope they dont remember me moments. Sitting around white clothed table tops, murmurs, tears, smiles, snips of conversation fill the air. Later friends gather, remembering the decades that have gone on. Smiles fill the circumference of their faces.
