My dad was an Army logistics officer, which is a nice way of saying he was OCD. He used to prepare for every perceived emergency possible, so in his cars he always had these plastic bins full of flashlights, jumper cables, first aid equipment, etc.. After he stopped driving I inherited two of these, and though Ive never had a problem with my Element I kept them around for sentimentality. This afternoon, though, I blew a tire in the middle of nowhere coming back from Santa Fe on I-25. Turns out I have a good donut tire and a nice jack... but no extension for the jack so no way to get it out of its carrier. But in one of my fathers plastic bins... of course there is a jack, and I get back late but safe. So thanks to the anal retentive angel of my father still watching over me, which is kind of funny and cool all at the same time.
