My friends might have noticed that I have participated high risk activities and in some cases self destructive behavior in the past. Well I drove under railroad crossing barriers while they were flashing and lowering for the first time in my life today. Two lessons learned. 1. In true govt fashion. They do have a safety factor built in between the time the lights start flashing and the train actually arrives at the intersection. 2. Look both ways before you commit... Just blindly hitting the gas and hoping there is no train entering the intersection is just dumb. Hope is not a course of action.
