My name is (Aisha) name changed. I belong to one of the posh colony,(but not now)....from Srinagar, (Flood Victim area) .I always used to consider downtown area with low status, Stone pelters, strike and hartal Supporters. But, this time, My mind is completely changed, .....I was stuck at my home for consecutive 3 days along with my 2 little sons. My husband, a doctor by profession was on night duty that very night.....My husband tried his level best and approached many officers in order to rescue us, but all in vain. Till This time the water had entered second storey and we were completely helpless. We waved our hands to NDRF as well as choppers, but both didnt pay any attention....NDRF team said, your house is concrete, no need to be panic and no worries.. We managed to get some food from other Neighbour. Finally I saw 3 young Boys who played with their life and came for our help.They managed to rescue us in a boat (Naav) , they were not professional boat rowers but with the help of wood sheets, they took us to safer places. while taking us in the boat, One Young boy among them was telling to other boy , My parents are not aware that, I am in rescue, because my parents know that their son dont know swimming......I was shocked to hear that this boy came from some area of downtown and played with his life only to save flood victims of our colony. I tried to convince them for taking any cash from mine side as a gift..In response to it, they lowered their head and said, Mam, Just pray for us, thats enough ...and MASHAALLAH YOUR SONS ARE SWEET. This type of moment was a memorable easy in my life..I THANK YOU ALL OF THEM. I AM HARD FAN OF DOWNTOWN NOW LONG LIVE DOWNTOWN.
